Retreat Terms and Conditions

PAYMENT
The costs of attending a teaching retreat are your accommodation, and also the Deercc payment that you make at the end of the retreat for the teachings that you have received.

Everything you pay to Teinntean for your accommodation is used to settle our bill with the retreat house, and goes towards the actual cost of paying for our food, meeting rooms and sleeping accommodation.

PLEASE NOTE that your deposit payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If for any reason a retreatant has to cancel their attendance at the retreat, please let Teinntean know as soon as possible, so we can offer the place to someone else.  (Email: [email protected])

The closer the cancellation is to the start date, the less likely it will be that we will find someone able to take up the place. If a retreatant cancels their booking, we are only able to refund their final payment if we are able to fill their place.
We recommend that you investigate Travel Insurance to cover you for this event.

ATTENDANCE

It is general practice that caimeachs attend for the whole of a teaching retreat, including the final shared meal, in order that we may all help to build the sacred container that provides the best potential for a rich and deep experience of the teachings and practices that are being transmitted by the oide.
Please talk to Teinntean if you foresee a potential problem with late arrival or a need for early departure due to travel concerns.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING

All retreatants are responsible for looking after their own health and wellbeing, and holding an awareness of the wellbeing of others, including the retreat house staff who will be looking after us.

While many people now have very few concerns about Covid, we do have people in our community with health conditions that make them particularly vulnerable to viral infection infection of all kinds. So we would ask any participant to be mindful that there may be others attending the retreat who have health issues, and to make sure that you are in good health before you come to the retreat - or as far as that is possible for any of us to be sure!

BURSARY FUND

Please remember our Bursary Fund which is available to give financial support to members of the caim to attend their annual teaching retreats.

If any caimeach feels it will be difficult to meet the full cost, this fund is there specifically for them.  And in fact coming to a retreat with the help of a bursary benefits the whole Caim, both because of your own precious contribution to the làthar, and because fuller attendance makes a retreat more viable.

When the Teinntean team hires a retreat house on your behalf, we commit to paying for a stated number of rooms to ensure a place for everyone in the caim. By making use of the bursary fund so that you can attend you are not only fulfilling your commitment to your spiritual path, you are also supporting the rest of your community by making the retreat financially viable.

Please note that your bursary will not cover your Deercc payment to your oide.

Application to the bursary fund is completely confidential. Marion, Julie and Lesley handle bursary applications, and do know from personal  experience what it is like to struggle financially, so rest assured they will understand and no judgements will be made .
