An Introduction to the Céile Dé Tradition
"Uniting Heaven and Earth"
A Weekend Retreat in Worcestershire
26th - 28th July 2024
Holland House
|
A residential weekend in the beautiful Vale of Evesham, in the heart of England. This retreat offers newcomers an opportunity to experience some of the teachings and practices of the Céile Dé tradition.
Further opportunities will be available for those seeking a committed spiritual path for change through local Céile Dé groups. |
The path of the Céile Dé is an ancient oral tradition which has its roots in both Native Gaelic Spirituality and the earliest expression of Christ-consciousness in the Celtic lands.
The tradition has at its heart a deep faith in, and celebration of, the transformative power of love. The inter-connectedness of all life and esoteric practice rooted in the turning of the seasons, or 'Wheel of the Year', are also core elements of this ancient path. During this weekend retreat, you will have a taste of Céile Dé spiritual life, which is largely contemplative and nurtures a deep and devotional relationship with the Great Mystery - The Invisible Beloved, Whose Face is Everywhere... |
This residential retreat offers the time and space to experience the rare purity of some ancient spiritual teachings and practices which are still only ever taught in person, and are never given by video or available as an online course.
For example, during the weekend, you will have the chance to learn an 'Oran Turais'. This is a Gaelic term which refers to a group of sacred Gaelic prayer songs that are chanted, with accompanying movements, whilst walking in meditation. This practice will be presented as it has been for over a thousand years - a personal teaching from the heart of an ancient oral tradition. |
We will share ... sacred Gaelic prayers and chants (sometimes chanted during walking meditations in nature) ... times of silence, meditation and contemplation ... and teachings handed down from ancestors who understood only too clearly what it means to walk a path towards personal change and spiritual realisation, whilst being fully engaged in the busy-ness and demands of daily life.
