Introductory Retreat - The Practical Stuff
There will be plenty of space between each of our online sessions during the weekend,
for solitary reflection and spiritual practice.
Information on being on retreat at home and how to pay for your retreat.
We will meet on Zoom for no more than a total of four hours each day, with plenty of time to be offline, to move around, rest, reflect on the teachings and practices which you have been introduced to, and to go outside and be in nature if you are able.
In order to create and preserve a sense of retreat, we invite each of you to ‘clear the deck’ as much as you can in your own lives and homes over this weekend.
We appreciate that this will be more achievable for some people than for others and accept that what is possible for each person will be determined by their individual circumstances. More detailed guidance on how to create your at-home retreat will be given after you have reserved your place.

About Zoom - Being prepared
You will need a Zoom account (a free account will suffice) as well as a basic familiarity with Zoom, which includes:
• How to use a Zoom link and password in order to join a meeting
• How to mute and unmute your microphone.
• How to turn your video on and off whilst staying logged into a meeting
• How to switch back and forth between “Gallery view” and "Speaker View"
• Knowing how to receive pdf files sent through Zoom would be helpful but not necessary (we will also email handouts to retreatants after teaching sessions)

Laptop, tablet, phone?
It's worth giving careful consideration to your choice of device, to help you get the best from your retreat experience.
Experience of offering online retreats in the past year has shown us that taking part in an online retreat through a device with a screen that is smaller than the average tablet will be a disadvantage: for instance, a small screen makes it difficult or impossible to see words that will occasionally be written on a whiteboard, and it will often be useful to be able to see all of the other attendees in gallery view.

Payment for your retreat
In accordance with the traditions of our path, you will make TWO separate payments for your teaching retreat. Both payments are made online for this retreat (other payment options are available on enquiry by email to [email protected]).
The booking process is in three steps as follows:
1. Submit your online booking form
2. Online payment of £50 booking fee to reserve your place (this is non-refundable)
3. Deercc payment: At the end of the retreat, you will make a further online payment for the teachings you have received. We call this 'Deercc', and is an amount that you discern privately. More guidance will be given on this to those who book, but you can find more information about Deercc here.
